The Sak Comedy Lab has been a funny place for a

once-a-month late-night show. Seven performers—
representing Brazil, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Colombia—
are featured. Their names: Eli Castro, Nadia
Garzón, Francisco Laboy, Ivan Marasca, Angie
Morales,Mike Navarro and José Rodríguez. Their act:

| NEW MEDIEVAL TIMES |
|
North America’s longest running dinner attraction has
gotten even better. In December, Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament launched its first new show since 2003.
More than 30 months in the making, the production includes
audience favorites such as live jousting, swordplay, horsemanship
and falconry. Guests are taken back in time and encouraged to
cheer for one of six knights of the realm, named after historic
regions of medieval Spain.
In
addition to a new script,
the production includes
new lighting, choreography
and battle scenes, new
horse dressage elements—
executed by Medieval
Times’ famed Andalusian
stallions— and
a new soundtrack composed
in the United States
and performed by the
Czech Republic-based
Czech Film Orchestra.
A new theatrical element,
Medieval Times’
first use of a high-output
snow machine, also adds
an unexpected magical
element to the guest
experience.

| HISPANIC FILMS ON DISPLAY |
|
The First Annual Orlando Hispanic Film Festival, held last
year, was a smash hit. The event proved to be both high energy
and high profile, featuring more than 30 independent
films and attracting many film enthusiasts.
This year promises the same, Oct. 10-12, as part of Hispanic
Heritage Month, at Premiere Cinemas 14, Orlando Fashion Square.
Essentially, the festival provides a platform where independent
filmmakers from across the world can showcase their work to
industry professionals as well as the entire Central Florida community. Independent filmmaking, a fast-growing industry, is a significant
medium to communicate new ideas, introduce new techniques
and explore new topics that are rarely seen in the mainstream.
During the festival, awards are presented to top selected films,
including the Audience Award, where the public actively participates
in the selection of the winning film. In addition to watching
movies, attendees can participate
in educational panels, network
and mingle with filmmakers.
