Q: What can I expect to read in Ahora Orlando?

A: Ahora Orlando is a unique relocation guide/city magazine. Published twice yearly, Ahora Orlando contains all kinds of relevant information on how to make the most of living in Central Florida. Relocation information includes housing, employment, education, health care, activities and other important topics. In addition, the city magazine portion focuses on current issues, Hispanic personalities, coverage of the local art scene, community events and much more. Past cover stories have included entertainer Tito Nieves, Florida First Lady Columba Bush and local newscaster Raoul Martinez.

Q: How can I become featured, or be a part of an article, in Ahora Orlando ?

A: Doing something special in the Central Florida Hispanic community is a great way to start. Then simply contact the magazine by emailing our senior editor Michael Candelaria at mcandelaria@ahoraorlando.com. The editors of Ahora Orlando rate the merits of all story ideas based on the magazine's readership. In other words, would the story provide an intriguing or beneficial perspective to readers? Will the contents of the article inform the readership of something new, unique or otherwise interesting? Is the information timely? Does the story shine a positive light on the Hispanic community? Will the article bring motivation for achievement? Those are among the key questions that the editors will ask themselves as they determine the appropriateness of story ideas.

Q: Why magazine advertising?

A: Here's why:

. Magazines are the "hot" medium in today's market because they deliver quality.

. Magazines are designed to reach the right people-your customers.

. Magazine readers tend to be more educated and purchase more advertised products.

. Ads work longer in magazines because people keep magazines.

. People share magazines with other people, increasing readership.

. People return to a magazine repeatedly, experiencing it thoroughly over several sittings.

. People read magazines at their convenience and with fuller attention than is paid to other media.

. People choose magazines to reflect their interests and loyalties, allowing advertisers to appeal more deeply to the customer.

. Magazines allow advertisers to present their product or service in the highest quality fashion and with the best reproduction.

Q: Why should I advertise my business in Ahora Orlando magazine?

A: Ahora Orlando magazine-the "Official Relocation Guide of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando"-is an award-winning publication. Ahora Orlando marked its one-year anniversary in August 2004 by winning two awards, including second place in the category of "Best New Magazine" by the Florida Magazine Association. The other award was third place in the category of "Best Bilingual Magazine." Ahora Orlando /Creative Angle Media also won the prestigious 2004 Don Quijote Award for Best Hispanic Business of the Year - Less Than 3 Years. As an award winner, the magazine provides a top-quality environment for advertising messages. It's also the original fully bilingual relocation/city magazine in metro Orlando, so advertisers can reach diverse markets.

Furthermore, Ahora Orlando is read by relocating families, as well as the local Hispanic and business community. The magazine is distributed at key locations, including all major Chambers of Commerce, home builders, Realtors, relocation specialists, long-term-stay hotels, hospitals, doctors' offices, drugstores, restaurants and many other locations. And the distribution list keeps growing. Ahora Orlando is published twice a year and has six months of circulation per issue, as a bi-annual publication with a minimum run of 30,000 copies and a readership of 150,000.

Q: Is the Central Florida Hispanic community growing in population and generally increasing in influence?

A: Absolutely. The Hispanic population is the largest and fastest-growing in the country, increasing from 22.3 million to 35.3 million (58%) in just 10 years. And much of that growth is occurring locally. In Osceola County alone, Hispanics comprise 29.41% of the population. As a result, Hispanics are becoming an undeniable force in virtually every facet of life throughout the region.

Q: How can I subscribe to Ahora Orlando ?

A: Currently, Ahora Orlando is not a subscription-based magazine. You can pick up your free copy at key locations in town (please see Distribution information in this Web site), or contact us to receive a free copy in the mail. Subscriptions will become available with our next issue, Spring/Summer 2005 (coming out in the end of March).
